The following are the causes of hair loss in young women.
Protein malnutrition is responsible for causing hair loss in most young women. The diet they consume is often low in protein that cause the hair to go into the resting phase and the hair then sheds much earlier. Hair loss caused by insufficient proteins in the body can be stopped by having a healthy diet. Once the healthy diet is started, the hair loss gradually reduces and stop within 3-4 months.
Improper hair care can cause hair loss in young women who are more likely to color their hair, use shampoo frequently, perm hair too often and use chemicals to treat their hair.
Iron deficiency is another cause of hair loss in young women. This is due to the frequent changes that their body undergoes. A doctor must be consulted as some women have problem absorbing iron in their body and a doctor could give iron supplements depending on blood tests.
Women who take birth control pills can experience hair loss. Always consult a doctor before you start taking a particular brand of birth control pills. Not every type of birth control pill may suit your body.
